Spring sunshine 2011

My images are defined by light; the light of the garden that transforms colors and textures into vibrant, translucent forms pulsating with life. My subjects live in the natural world; a world I take delight in observing and sharing with others.

Janis has been involved in the world of the artist since her first drawing classes at the Kansas City Art Institute when she was seven. She is an honors graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute (BFA in Painting) and received her MA and MFA from Northern Illinois University-DeKalb in Printmaking and Drawing. In 2011 she received a Certificate in Social Media from Madison Area Technical College.
